The quality assurance officer will :
Completes audits of the aircraft maintenance program by sampling, review of processes and operational procedures in accordance with CARs requirements, and provides written reports of findings to Quality Assurance Manager.
Reviews ASB policies and procedures as an aid to the Quality Assurance Manager validating compliance with the requirements set out in CARs, identifies and recommends potential areas requiring clarification or amendment, and ensures new/emerging regulatory requirements are effectively relayed to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Assists with development of a national, fleet wide audit plan to assess and confirm conformance to CARs and maintenance standards.
In the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager, conducts audits, or delegates and directs the conduct of scheduled and unscheduled audits by internally approved auditors, to ensure compliance with CARs and established policies and procedures, reviews reports of findings, and advises the Quality Assurance Manager.
Reports audit findings resulting from quality assurance activities to the Quality Assurance Manager and participates in reviewing results and establishing the way forward.
Follows up on the implementation of corrective action plans where audit results are unsatisfactory and performance needs improvement, and reviews tracking reports to ensure ASB’s adherence to the requirements of the maintenance program.
Provides the secondary focal point of contact for Transport Canada Principle Maintenance Inspectors, provides information and logistical support for their audit activities, discusses issues, and gains acceptance of ASB corrective action reports, as necessary.
Participates in ASB projects, such as program policy reviews, and provides quality assurance input into systems design and development initiatives.
The RCMP Air Services is a national program providing airborne law enforcement consisting of the policy centre (Air Services Branch) in Ottawa at National Headquarters and divisional air sections. Air Services has 35 aircrafts (mix of fixed- and rotary-wing) at 19 air sections strategically located across the country. Air Services employs 190 employees including Pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Flight Coordinators and Tactical Flight Officers.
The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English Essential and a Top Secret security clearance.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
