Assessment accommodation

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is an independent and a highly specialized agency of the Government of Canada that advances transportation safety by investigating air, marine, pipeline, and rail transportation accidents and incidents.

It’s a modern, world-class organization in constant evolution that has an enviable reputation in Canada and around the world.

With five Board members, including the Chair, and a high-performing workforce of just 220, the TSB has 10 offices across Canada, including its head office in Gatineau, Quebec.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions with various language profiles, tenures (indeterminate, term, casual, secondment, acting etc.). The TSB is committed to advancing transportation safety while being flexible, inclusive, and barrier-free.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education

A degree from a recognized university or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Note:
At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.

Degree equivalency

Experience

Significant* experience in one or more of the following
• copyediting
• compare editing
• writing
• translating
in French and English

Experience in terminology research

*Significant experience refers to a depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired from working in this field for 18 months.

Knowledge of writing tools and references, including Government of Canada standards and tools
