POSITION LOCATION / WORK ARRANGEMENT:
OSFI believes in offering employees flexibility and in creating a workplace that is productive, engaging, collaborative, and inclusive, all the while being supportive of employees’ wellbeing. As such, OSFI is experimenting with a hybrid work model (a combination of telework and onsite work) that will shape how we use our physical workplace to establish new norms, ways of collaborating, and working together and will adjust its model based on lessons learned.
This position is located in Ottawa. However, the successful candidate may report to the Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal office for in-office work.
Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position requires physical presence (in-office work) from one of the following OSFI offices across Canada (Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal). The option of teleworking is available on a part-time basis in accordance with OSFI’s Guidelines on Telework. Teleworking arrangements are determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature of the work required by the position, the operational and business needs, as well as the candidate’s work preferences.
What you will be doing (RE-05 Business Analyst):
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders to ensure cooperative and agile approach to data governance;
• Provide support to internal clients and external partners, by assessing data, use cases and/or policy requirements;
• Provide project management leadership on new initiatives;
• Provide support for the implementation of the Data Strategy through creating and maintaining policies, standards, processes, and procedures;
• Provide day-to-day direction/assistance to users in understanding data governance and data management best practices;
• Keep up-to-date with data governance best practices that will support effective data analysis and increased data use at OSFI;
• Build and maintain effective communications with internal and external stakeholders;
• Apply strong analytical and interviewing skills as they pertain to business and process re-design;
• Provide business analysis expertise to data governance operations, including identifying opportunities for process improvement (e.g. streamline review and approval processes), process documentation, process mapping, procedure documentation, clarification and documentation of roles and responsibilities.
What you will be doing (RE-04 Regulatory Information Officer):
• In collaboration with the BA, provide support to internal clients by analyzing their needs and providing data and project management expertise;
• Provide business process expertise, including identifying opportunities for process improvement (e.g. streamline complex processes, automate manual processes, clarify complex processes), process documentation, process mapping, procedure documentation, clarification and documentation of roles and responsibilities;
• Support the development and documentation of technology solutions to data experimentation and data management problems;
• Provide support for the planning, drafting, communication, and implementation of policies, standards, processes, and procedures derived from OSFI’s Data Strategy;
• Keep up-to-date with data governance best practices that will support effective data analysis and increased data use at OSFI;
• Build and maintain effective communications with internal and external stakeholders;
• Apply strong collaboration and interviewing skills as they pertain to business and process re-design;
• Assist in the development and submission of key performance indicators;
• Provide status updates, presentations, recommendations and respond to enquiries from management;

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree from a post-secondary institution with specialization in business, information technology, information management, computer science, data management, data analytics or another relevant field OR an acceptable combination of relevant professional industry experience and education.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Significant and recent experience working collaboratively with business partners to understand, analyse and articulate data or project requirements and recommend solutions.
• Significant and recent experience in one or more of the following:
o Supporting data governance initiatives;

OSFI is a separate agency with its own classification and compensation system. OSFI's staffing is subject to the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA).
