Candidates are not required to submit a cover letter. Instead, candidates will be asked to answer screening questions for each essential and asset criteria (education and experience) through the electronic application. As this process may be used to fill multiple positions, additional qualifications (asset qualifications, operational requirements) may be used in the screening of candidates and/or to choose from among qualified candidates for specific positions. Intent of the process

The anticipated intent/result of this process is to indeterminately staff (on a full time basis) one position.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies, similar positions, for term, permanent and acting.

Indeterminate employees at the same group and level or equivalent may be considered for deployment. If no deployment is made, other applicants will be considered in the advertised appointment process.

Education:
Graduated with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a *field related to the maintenance and construction of **Real Property projects.

*Field related to includes, but is not limited to: Licensed journeyman Electrician, Plumber, HVAC or Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical technician, or engineer
**Real Property projects are defined as new construction or renovations for buildings, structures, improvements, and other fixtures on, above, or below the surface of the land.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- *Significant and **recent experience in providing technical and professional advisory services
- *Significant and **recent experience in reviewing plans and specifications for ***Real Property projects prepared by consulting architects and engineers
- *Significant and **recent Experience in Real Property Maintenance Program development and technical support
- Experience in project management
- Experience in the review and management of building condition reports, regulatory compliance documents or energy studies related to sustainable development in ***Real Property projects

*Significant experience refers to the breadth and depth of experience normally achieved through the performance of duties in a Canadian context over and approximate five (5)-year period of time.
**Recent experience is defined as within the ten (10) years preceding the closing date of this process.
***Real Property projects are defined as new construction or renovations for buildings, structures, improvements, and other fixtures on, above, or below the surface of the land.

Occupational Certification:
- Certification in project management from a recognized institute or association such as PMP certification
- Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position

Experience:
- Experience working in the engineering field
- Experience working with Crown-owned real property technical management
- Experience in projects and maintenance for a laboratory
- Experience working with relevant federal government regulation as they apply to project management
- Experience working with Health and Safety regulations and practices in construction projects

Meeting one or many of the asset qualifications may be a deciding factor in appointing a particular candidate amongst the qualified candidates. Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.

Please note that within the context of this selection process, travel costs/expenses will not be reimbursed. Consequently, candidates will be responsible for travel costs.

An assignment/secondment or an acting appointment is a temporary resourcing option. The approval of your substantive supervisor will be required before an offer can be made.
