About Us
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.
Our Mission
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), as part of the criminal justice system and respecting the rule of law, contributes to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.
A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established and may be used to fill other permanent or term positions at locations in the Prairie Region.

Graduation with a Master’s or Doctorate (Ph.D) degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialisation in clinical, forensic or counselling psychology or in another psychological speciality relevant to the position.
Significant* experience in the provision of psychological services (including mental health services) to offenders within a correctional environment (institutional or community) or psychiatric hospital setting.
* Significant is normally defined as having at least 3 years of experience.

Knowledge of ethical principles guiding the professional practice of psychology.
Knowledge of principles and applications of psychological services (including mental health services), such as assessment, treatment, programs and crisis intervention.
Knowledge of the issues and trends affecting the management and delivery of mental health programs.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and Correctional Service Canada policies (e.g. Commissioner’s Directives).

Registration for autonomous practice of psychology by the provincial registering/ licensing body in the province of practice.
