As an HR professional at DFO, your days will be spent:
► Working as part of a team providing support to hiring managers for all their talent sourcing and recruitment activities
► Collaborating with other HR Professionals in a fast-paced environment
► Advancing our department's recruitment methods by researching innovative approaches
► Assisting in delivering training sessions for managers and employees, virtually and in person
► Participating in outreach events, including career fairs and special events
► Learning about the fundamentals of staffing in the Public Service of Canada

🌟 When you are applying as a PE-01 and/or PE-02 there is an opportunity to be part of the PE Development Program. This program is designed to develop individuals from the PE-01 to the PE-03 level. It provides a structured developmental experience composed of learning objectives, developmental work assignments, coaching, training and learning activities, regular feedback, and written performance assessments. The program duration will vary for each participant depending on the individual’s state of professional development, their performance, and the learning and development required for their respective discipline.

PE-01 (HR Advisor Trainee): $56,796 to $70,651
PE-02 (HR Advisor): $71,643 to $79,519
PE-03 (HR Advisor): $80,336 to $89,295

Work environment

🐳 At DFO, we are committed to creating and maintaining a psychologically healthy and safe workplace. As an HR Advisor, you will contribute to the workplace by communicating ideas, views and concerns respectfully and recognize the contributions and celebrate the successes of others.

For positions in Dartmouth, you will work from the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (1 Challenger Drive, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) and typically on a hybrid schedule (in-office presence of 2 days a week and 3 days from home).

For positions in Moncton, you will work from the Gulf Fisheries Centre (343 Université ave, Moncton, New Brunswick) and typically on a hybrid schedule (in-office presence of 2 days a week and 3 days from home).

Upon appointment, successful candidates may be asked to work in the office full-time for the duration of the training period.

✔Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in human resources, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organization development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology or any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
