The position is located at 1426 St. Joseph Boulevard, Orleans, Ontario.
This position is part of RCMP's Technical Operations team. The incumbent will be required to work as the subject-matter-expert of mechanical lock systems. Work is conducted in machine shop/welding/spraying/painting facilities and office environments, with occasional periods at construction sites. Machinery and chemical hazards are similar to those encountered in light construction work. The incumbent may occasionally have to perform duties in spaces such as rooftops, basements, attics, cellars, crawl spaces, or walk-in freezers. The incumbent may occasionally be expected to wear a bullet proof vest when performing duties.
The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB and a Top Secret security clearance.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM

Experience in the mechanical and/or locksmithing technology fields
Experience in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of protective security systems
Diploma or Certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology or in a related field through provincial associations of engineering/applied science. i.e. Machinist, Mechanical Techniques (for 2 years), Electro-mechanical technician or Certification from a recognized trade school as a locksmith
Experience in technical protective security hardware and devices or techniques
Experience in technical writing related to mechanical security, such as hardware schedule specifications.
Experience in reading and designing floor plans/blueprints.
Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice based on operational requirements.
Various language requirements
