As Director of the Centre of Excellence, you will lead the development of an organizational framework for EDI, including the implementation of LAC’s Accessibility Plan. You will lead the coordination and development of strategies and initiatives to ensure that LAC’s EDI plans and strategies are integrated.
The individual selected will represent the organization and will act as a catalyst for change and a collaborator, both internally and externally. The incumbent will work with LAC’s sectors, services and programs to build partnerships, adopt new practices and inspire others.

→ Ensure equitable access to its programs and services for all users and employees;
→ Foster the integration of EDI principles in the design of programs and services for users, as well as in its practices;

→ Consolidate data collection and guide the necessary analyses to ensure that EDI issues are considered in the decision-making process of all its business lines.
► Key responsibilities
→ Develop strategies and initiatives with key stakeholders of the organization to ensure LAC’s collection and service offerings are diverse and inclusive.
→ Lead consultations with Canadian cultural communities seeking equity with the goal of supporting LAC’s commitment to expand its collections so that more people can see themselves in the collections and to facilitate access to its diversified and inclusive collections.
→ Lead, update and monitor the implementation of LAC’s Accessibility Plan.
→ Collaborate with and engage internal partners to ensure the commitments outlined in the Accessibility Plan are met.
→ Play a coordinating role with LAC’s internal and external partners to ensure a holistic approach to EDI.
→ Identify opportunities to build strong external relationships and partnerships with community organizations and opinion leaders on EDI.
→ Lead related processes on data collection, analysis and reporting.
→ Provide advice and integrated strategic thinking to stakeholders, including the management team, on short-term priorities and long-term direction, to foster a culture that is equitable, diverse and inclusive.

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is seeking a Director (EX-01) for its Centre of Excellence in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) for a two (2) years term with possibility of extension.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established as a result of this process. Appointments could be for different durations (acting, assignment, secondment, deployment, indeterminate, term) depending on the positions to be filled.

► EDUCATION:
ED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a filed relevant to the position such as communications, public relations, public administration, social sciences, human rights, social justice, public policy, human resources management or other.)
► EXPERIENCES:
EX1: Experience in leading, developing or implementing complex initiatives, programs or strategies.
EX2: Experience in building and maintaining relationships and collaborating with various cultural communities in Canada, including with partners and stakeholders.
EX3: Experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management* on complex issues** of a sensitive nature.
EX4: Experience in human resources management.
*“Senior management” is defined as Directors (EX-01 or equivalent) and above.
**Complex issues have at least two (2) of the following characteristics: they are multidimensional, sensitive or confidential; they have a significant impact on a public service or Government of Canada program; or they may result in significant media coverage.

ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
