Work environment

Testimony of Harvey Miller, departing Area Director, Southwest NB “In this position I was privileged to work with a very strong team of dedicated individuals who are passionate and caring about their work while delivering DFO programs. Our successes are largely due to a relationship focus in a dynamic, operational environment. The director oversees programs ranging from the management of commercial fishing, small craft harbours and aquaculture, to restoring ecosystems and fish populations vital to Indigenous culture and identity. Working with partners on salmon restoration activities will continue to be of major importance as the Area Office works to build a nation-to-nation relation with Indigenous partners. The role presents a tremendous opportunity for a leader who puts people first and is keen to support vibrant and sustainable fisheries and ecosystems in coastal and Indigenous communities for future generations.”
