Fisheries & Oceans Canada’s (DFO) Fisheries Management Program in the Arctic Region is looking for motivated and dedicated staff to help deliver its programs and meet the unique needs of this exciting new region.
DFO manages fisheries using science and Indigenous Knowledge in decision-making. • supporting the development of small scale and exploratory fisheries;
• developing and supporting community monitoring programs;
• distributing or issuing marine mammal tags, licenses, log books, sample kits and other materials to support sustainable harvesting and monitoring;
• supporting the use and sharing of all forms of knowledge including local traditional knowledge;
• hosting consultation, engagement and education activities.
