Assessment accommodation

As announced by the Treasury Board of Canada, Indigenous Services Canada employees are expected to perform their duties from a government of Canada physical workplace at least 2–3 days each week, or 40–60% of their regular schedule. Duties

We are looking for dynamic, creative, and motivated employees who would be interested in joining great teams of professionals and working in a stimulating environment in the following domains as an Information Technology Team Leader and Information Technology Technical Advisor.

• Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Operations (IO)
Deploy and manage portions of computing infrastructure such as:
 Networks
 Mainframes
 Servers
 Storage devices
 Desktop Services
Provide IT help desk support, IT Asset provisioning & Management and specific IT client services such as Audio-Visual and Videoconferencing services and Telephony Services.

• Information Technology (IT) Software Solutions (SS)
Develop or maintain all custom and proprietary departmental applications and commercial off-the-shelf software and hardware applications (COTS).
They perform the following activities to ensure the delivery of applications :
 Systems design and development
 Systems and business analysis
 Programming, configuration, testing and implementation
 Data Analytics and reporting
 Forms Development

• Information Technology (IT) Database Management (DBM)
Develop or maintain data models and related databases and perform:
 Database design
 Database capacity planning
 Database performance management and tuning
 Ensure data security and recovery
 Data modeling
 Data extraction, transformation and loading

• Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Architecture (EA)
Develop, manage and communicate the departmental IT architecture program and direction. Conduct research into emerging technologies and support the definition of the future state of IT that is required to meet departmental business requirements.

• Information Technology (IT) Project Portfolio Management (PPM)
Provide project management expertise and services for projects internal to IT for major projects and initiatives.

• Information Technology (IT) Business Line Advisory Services (BLA)
Provide specialized IT guidance and interface with clients or suppliers to ensure that innovative and reliable IT resources are available to support enterprise business objectives in the following functional areas:
 IT Business Analysis
 Client Portfolio Management
 Project Portfolio Management
 Supplier Relationship Management

• Information Technology (IT) Planning & Reporting (P&R)
Provide specialized IT planning guidance for the creation of planning deliverables such as:
 An IT strategic plan aligned with business line objectives
 Departmental IT-related policies and standards
 IT governance processes

• Information Technology (IT) Security (ITS)
Provide specialized IT security guidance to ensure the availability, integrity and confidentiality of government information and assets such as IT infrastructure, business applications and data. Develop and implement:
 In-house custom security applications
 Security strategies and policies
 Security processes and risk management frameworks

The immediate intent of this poster is to fill ten (10) indeterminate positions with various linguistic requirements.

EDUCATION

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above.
