Work environment

The RCMP – Federal Policing unit is hiring for Information Management (IM) Specialists and Quality Assurance (QA) Reviewers to be part of a dynamic team that provides support to the investigation process by ensuring information is complete, accurate and to up date.

As an IM Specialist, your day to day includes responding to enquiries, concerns and requests from clients, employees, supervisors and managers relating to information management services, policies and procedures. You may liaise with stakeholders including other federal departments and agencies, and non-government offices in order to resolve operational difficulties and ensure departmental information management objectives are achieved.

As a QA Reviewer, your day to day may include coordinating and actioning the transfer of investigative information from a case management file system into PRIME, submit reports to the Crown Counsel, and maintain important information within police systems. This role requires the individual to liaise with other police agencies, court registries, Crown counsels, and more in order to complete your tasks.

The successful candidate for the IM Specialist role will work out of our offices in either Kelowna, Victoria, or Surrey, BC. The successful candidate for the QA Reviewer role will work out of office headquarters in Surrey, BC

Intent of the process

The anticipated intent/result of this process is to indeterminately staff (on a full time basis) two positions.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future permanent or temporary vacancies (including terms, actings, casuals, assignments and secondments) in similar-level positions (at full or part-time hours, including shift-work). Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

2. Experience reviewing PRIME operational files for content, quality and compliance with PRIME policy, and determining any corrective action required.

4. Experience using CPIC for data entry (e.g. ACCD, WANT, SIP/SURV, Release Conditions etc.), and information retrieval in the performance of duties
5. Experience with IntelliBook and Criminal Justice Information Management (CJIM)
6. Experience performing court liaison related functions
7. Experience with the Master Name Index (MNI)

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.
