Within the Integrated Services team, works in a dynamic environment to support the two sites (Charlottetown and Harrington) of the Charlottetown Research and Development Centre. Providing a full range of warehousing and stores services at the Charlottetown Research and Development Centre.
Ensures that an adequate supply of materials is always available and if not will purchase the required material
Ensures the receipt, storage, handling, packaging, distribution and recording of AAFC materials and equipment, including hazardous materials and ensures safe/secure storage in accordance with health and safety guidelines and standards.
Ensures a clean and safe working environment.
Responsible for the management of fleet vehicles and trailers, including the arranging for maintenance, yearly inspections and registration.
The Charlottetown Research and Development Centre (CRDC) is part of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s national network of 20 research centres. The CRDC focuses on the development and transfer of knowledge and innovative technologies for agriculture in Atlantic Canada. Its mission is to undertake research to enhance environmental sustainability of crop production systems in the heavily leached soils and sensitive watersheds of the Atlantic Region, diversification from bioresources both regionally and nationally, and innovative in primary production agriculture. The centre also supports national research in integrated crop production and several national crop breeding programs.
The need is to staff one full-time indeterminate position.
A pool of qualified and partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures as well as various linguistic requirements.

EDUCATION:
Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience using the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook and web browsers.
Experience providing warehousing services, such as: purchasing, receiving, shipping, storing, recording, stocking and/or issuing materials.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Professional certification in material management
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) 2015 training certificate
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training certificate
EXPERIENCE (ASSET):
Experience in the management of hazardous materials, including handling, packing, receiving, storage and shipping.
Experience with surplus and disposal of assets.
Experience in managing an employer assigned credit card.
Experience using SAP software.

Work from home (WFH) is not an option for this position. As part of the duties, the incumbent of this position is required to work on-site at two locations:
• The main location is located at the Charlottetown RDC at 440 University Avenue, Charlottetown, PEI.
• The occasional/secondary location is located at the Harrington location at 1200 Brackley Point Road, Harrington, PEI.
