Duties

Key activities of the Manager, Multimedia Projects include (but are not limited to):
↪ Managing an integrated team of multimedia personnel in the development of project plans and delivery of related communication products;
↪ Representing the department on joint projects and partnerships;
↪ Tracking projects milestones through performance measurement and reporting progress to senior management; and
↪ Managing assigned human, financial and material resources, including professional services contracts and partnerships.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill one (1) bilingual imperative (CBC/CBC) indeterminate position on a hybrid basis, which can be located at one of our research centres in any of the below locations:

National Defence has adopted a hybrid workforce model, meaning a combination of onsite work and telework. ED1. A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience approved by management.

EX1. Experience managing a multidisciplinary technical team.

EX2. Experience managing a team remotely.

EX3. Experience in project management, including managing multiple concurrent projects in support of key organizational, departmental, or governmental priorities and initiatives.

EX4. Experience in human resource (note 1) and financial resource (note 2) management.

EX5. Experience briefing senior management (Executive level) on issues, trends, or operational topics relevant to multimedia operations.

Note 1: Human resource management encompasses the following activities: supervising teams, setting a vision, priorities, work plans or performance targets, carrying out performance reviews and providing feedback on them, and training approval. Applicants should also indicate the number of employees they have supervised.

Note 2: Examples of financial resource management may include: managing a budget, resource planning (e.g. forecasting, budget allocation), tracking, modification, reporting (measuring performance).
