Quality Assurance Representative:
The daily routine of a Quality Assurance Representative has them visiting defence contractors and monitoring their work, ensuring it meets quality and contract standards.
Quality Assurance Representative - Shipyard:
The daily routine of a Quality Assurance Representative - Shipyard, involves monitoring and advising defence ship repair contractors to ensure they meet quality and contract standards.
The Director of Quality Assurance (DQA) performs Quality Assurance for the Department of National Defence. DQA is strategically located at or near contractor facilities throughout the country, where they monitor suppliers of goods and services involved in the manufacture, repair, overhaul, and disposal of military equipment and naval ships.
Together, DND and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) form the largest and most complex organization in Canada. DND's role is to provide services and support to the CAF in their operations and missions at home and abroad. DND and the CAF work side-by-side to fulfill the Government of Canada’s mission to defend Canada and Canadians and contribute to international peace, security and stability efforts.

Education:
A post-secondary degree/diploma from a recognized technological institute with a specialization in electrical engineering, electronics, aerospace or marine engineering, naval architecture, mechanical or industrial engineering technology, or other technological / manufacturing field relevant to the duties of the position.
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a technological / manufacturing field relevant to the duties of position.
Experience:
↪Experience in quality control or quality assurance in a technological, manufacturing or repair and overhaul field.
↪Experience providing services in one of the following fields: mechanical, electrical, communication, metallurgy, combat system/ammunition or industrial technology.

↪Experience in risk analysis related to the quality assurance

Operational Requirements:
↪Willing and able to work overtime when required.
↪Willing and able to travel to various contractors’ facilities in all weather conditions.
↪Must be able to walk, stand, bend and climb when performing assigned duties.
↪The position may require the wearing of protective clothing, and exposure to regular plant hazards such as but not limited to: radiation and nuclear material, volatile fumes, operating machinery, vehicular traffic, noise, fumes, heat and cold.
Depending on the position(s) being staffed, some additional Conditions of Employment and/or Operational requirements may be required.
