NOTICE
***************************
Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) recognizes that persons with lived experiences can be extremely valuable in advocating for and supporting individuals and communities that are at the center of its mandate, including people who have experienced gender-based violence and 2SLGBTQI+ individuals. WAGE also recognizes that the nature of its work can be triggering. Therefore, we encourage candidates, and in particular those with lived experiences, to assess their readiness to take on the work at WAGE and understand that there are risks of being exposed to stories or information about such situations.

***************************
Representation matters!
***************************
Creating an environment where diverse perspectives are valued begins with self-declaration. Count yourself in and self-declare by identifying which employment equity group(s) you belong to. To learn more about the self-declaring, visit our website: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/jobs/opportunities/government/self-declaring-because-we-care.html

At Women and Gender Equality, we are committed to providing a diverse, inclusive and barrier-free work environment. Having a strong and diverse workforce is one of our goals, and it starts with the hiring process.

We strive to establish bias-free selection and assessment practices that offer a level playing field for everyone including candidates from employment equity or equity-seeking groups, such as Indigenous peoples, racialized groups, persons with disabilities, members of the 2ELGBTQQI+ community, religious minorities, and women.

Work environment

The mandate of Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) is to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression through the inclusion of people of all genders, including women, in Canada’s economic, social, and political life.

WAGE works to advance gender equality through an intersectional, gendered lens and actively promotes the inclusion of all people, ensuring no one is left behind.

Our workforce is made up of individuals from various genders, diverse backgrounds, experiences, lived realities, and inclusion is very much part of our culture. We are program officers, project managers, partnership experts, communicators, and we are all united by the same purpose. We are looking for purpose-driven, talented, experienced, and committed people like you to join us in leading change and creating positive results.

Does this resonate with you? If so, join us in building a safer, more equal Canada for all.

WAGE is moving forward with the common hybrid work model for the federal public service recently announced by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. Presently, our hybrid model consists of an on-site presence of at least 2 days a week, or 40% of the time. There could be exceptional exemptions on a case-by-case basis based on operational requirements or other extenuating circumstance.
