Provides specialized technical advice, support and guidance to management, technical staff, program specialists and clients in the planning, design, development, testing, implementation, integration and maintenance of IT security solutions and services.
Elections Canada offers a hybrid work model which permits telework in most situations. However, as of March 27, 2023, employees are expected to work onsite at least 2 days per week (or a minimum of 40% of their working schedule). This includes one fixed day onsite for all employees of the same team and one flexible day (i.e. not fixed) at an onsite location. Work arrangements outside of this model will be considered on an exceptional basis only.
The intent of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates in order to staff IT-03 positions with variable tenures (such as indeterminate, term, acting) and with diverse linguistic profiles (BBB/BBB, CCB/CCB, CBC/CBC or CCC/CCC, English or French Essential).

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

EXPERIENCES
EXP1: Recent* and significant** experience in one or more of the following IT/IM disciplines:
· Security
· Infrastructure/Operations
· Application Development, Database and Data Administration
· Enterprise Architecture
· IT project management
EXP2: Recent* and significant** experience implementing IM/IT plans to achieve the security objectives of the client or management.
EXP3: Recent* and significant** experience in writing and/or presenting IT security materials for a senior audience (manager, director or above).
Definitions:
*Recent experience is defined as experience that was acquired within the last five (5) years.
** Significant is defined to mean the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed a broad range of duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.

The selection committee could decide to establish a cut-off point for the screening stage. That is, applicants who meet the essential experience qualifications could be ranked according to the depth and breadth of their experience. Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
