Information on employment equity
Ability to communicate effectively in writing will be assessed throughout the application process. Applicants must respond to the screening questions in a CLEAR and CONCISE manner and must demonstrate in their online application how they meet the essential criteria (Education and Experience). Candidates will be screened in/out of this process based only on the information provided in the text boxes. All dates (MM/YY) and examples must be recorded in the applicable text boxes within the application.
Please note that it is not sufficient to simply state that the requirement is met or to provide a listing of current responsibilities; rather, the applicant must provide concrete examples illustrating the activities they have actually performed and how those activities meet the requirement. Applicants will not be screened in merely by virtue of occupying a position in which the work description meets/met the experience criteria. Failure to clearly demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria (Education and Experience) will result in the rejection of your application.
The assessment board cannot infer work experience. Applicants will not be solicited for incomplete or missing information.
Applications that do not clearly demonstrate that the candidate meets the screening criteria will not be given further consideration.
Applicants who possess any of the asset experience listed in this process are encouraged to answer those screening questions fully and in detail on their application as top-down selection may be used at the screening stage.
Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
