The successful candidates will be required to work in a hybrid work mode at one of our worksite in the Atlantic region: Moncton (New Brunswick), Amherst (Nova Scotia) and Halifax (Nova Scotia). A part-time telework agreement may be discussed and implemented at the time of hiring in accordance with the operational needs of the position to be filled.
In the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) of Indigenous Services Canada, we strive to provide access to quality health services, improve health outcomes, and support greater control of the health system by First Nations and Inuit. The Atlantic Regional Office works with Indigenous and Provincial government partners to support the provision of health services in Indigenous communities as well as child-first and needs-based goods/services/supports and supplementary health benefits to individuals.
The intent of this selection process is to fil at least two positions:
SENIOR POLICY ANALYST - POLICY AND PLANNING
The Policy and Planning Directorate provides analysis for senior management decision making regarding the planning and delivery of programs in the region. The Directorate specializes in: Indigenous-Provincial-Federal relations, co-management processes with Atlantic First Nations, planning engagement (strategic and operational), and issues management.
SENIOR PROGRAM ANALYST - MENTAL WELLNESS
The Mental Wellness Directorate manages funding arrangements with Indigenous recipients for the provision of mental health promotion and counselling services as well as addictions prevention and treatment services. The Directorate specializes in: regional and community level program planning; partner engagement; program quality improvement; and culturally appropriate, trauma informed program delivery technical support.
This process could also be used to fill other positions at FNIHB. It will also be used to create a pool for indeterminate and specified period appointments. A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates will be established to staff similar or identical position at Indigenous Services Canada with various tenure, location, linguistic profiles, conditions of employment and security requirements.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Note: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Significant experience* supporting program implementation through assessment, analysis, and communication of advice including written products such as: discussion papers, presentations, narrative reports, studies, and briefing notes.
- Experience developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders as part of a project.
- Experience in supervising staff or managing project teams.
- Experience supporting strategic or operational planning for program delivery.
* Significant experience means that the experience obtained by the candidate is representative of the depth and breadth of experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties routinely for a period of at least two years.

EDUCATION
- Graduation with an advanced degree (Master’s or Phd) from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, social science or statistics.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the provision of analysis-based advice to senior management on Indigenous health matters.
- Experience supporting program assessment, analysis, and development related to Indigenous health e.g. mental wellness, public health, epidemiology.
- Experience working with Indigenous clients or organizations.
- Experience implementing collaborative research or knowledge translation projects with academic and Indigenous community stakeholders.
- Experience utilizing electronic health information systems.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of the application of eHealth concepts and technology to support health programs.
