What is the HFR project?
The High Frequency Rail (HFR) is a world-class transportation infrastructure that puts people first, and redefines the way we live, work and play.
To deliver an enhanced passenger experience that would provide more frequent, faster and more reliable service on modern accessible trains with improved operational performance in Canada’s most densely populated region, the Government of Canada is advancing the High Frequency Rail (HFR) project, covering Toronto, Peterborough, Ottawa, Montréal, Trois-Rivières and Québec City. This modern, mostly electrified network would include mainly new and dedicated track and extend over 1,000 KM. It would provide greater economic vitality for the route’s cities and communities and offer greater lifestyle choices to the people who live, work and play in them.
Perform project activities to support the Land Acquisition and Agreements team of the HFR project;
Assist in the engagement of partners and stakeholders in assessing the economic, social and environmental impacts of the land acquisition process, including Indigenous consultations;
Assist and oversee the process of negotiating agreements;
Assist the Executive Director in working horizontally across Transport Canada and with other Government Departments (including the Public Services and Procurement Canada) to provide expert advice and direction to the HFR project as it moves through the land acquisition process;
Coordinate and direct project and initiative activities, including the formulation of action plans, objectives, schedules, strategies, and priorities. Monitor, track, and report progress and status of the project and initiatives;
Develop communication strategies and documents to explain and promote the HFR project, more particularly the Land Acquisition and Agreements Team and initiatives.
