Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill current and future vacancies with various employment tenures and language profiles in Gagetown, NB.

Our immediate need is to staff two (2) indeterminate positions at the following group/level:
• Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (HVAC Technician) - GL-MAM-10
• Locksmith - GL-MAM-09

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

ED1. Possession of a valid New Brunswick or Interprovincial Journeyperson Certificate in one or more of the following: Plumbing, Steamfitting/Pipefitting, Carpentry, Painting, Masonry, Electrical, Powerline Technician, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

OR

***An applicable military QL5 qualification or higher.

*** NOTE: A military qualification of QL5 or higher will be accepted for the purpose of being eligible to be placed in a pool or inventory however the applicant will be required to obtain Journeyperson Certification as recognized by the Province of New Brunswick in the applicable trade prior to a term or indeterminate appointment.

GL-PIP-10 (Welder):
ED2: Possession of a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Welder Certificate

Candidates who do not currently possess a valid provincial/territorial Trade Certificate of Qualification or the inter-provincial Red Seal may be required to obtain their Red Seal certificate of qualification prior to appointment depending on the position being staffed. GL-PIP-10 (Welder):
OC1: Possession of a New Brunswick Valid Pressure Ticket from the Department of Labor – F4 Qualified

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Possession of a valid and unrestricted Provincial Driver’s Licence, as well as being able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driving permit.

Must be able and willing to work at heights from ladders and scaffolding.
Must be able and willing to work overtime and standby rotation.
Must be able and willing to work in extreme weather conditions.
Must be able and willing to work in confined spaces
Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Must be able and willing to lift up to 25 kg when required. (Candidates may be required to pass a physical test in relation to this condition.)

Candidates must meet and maintain the conditions of employment throughout their employment.

Depending on the position to be staffed, other conditions of employment may apply.
