The intent of this selection process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to be used to staff these or similar positions within Fisheries and Oceans Canada in the Newfoundland and Labrador Region on an indeterminate, specified period (term), or acting basis.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a natural, physical or applied science with specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

Experience in the conservation and/or monitoring of the environment, natural resources or species.

Experience in analyzing scientific information for the development of reports, maps or other specialized presentations of data.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset Qualifications

Experience:

Experience in collaborating with stakeholders on natural resource management issues.

Experience participating in public consultations, including developing consultation materials and/or analyzing results.

Experience in assessing or monitoring impacts of human activities on fish or fish habitat

Experience in marine spatial planning.

Experience in marine conservation.

Experience in the protection of biodiversity (e.g. species at risk, aquatic invasive species).

Experience conducting scientific work from small vessels.
