The immediate intention of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff various IT-03 positions at Elections Canada with varying tenures (such as indeterminate, specified period or acting) and various linguistic profiles (BBB/BBB, CCB/CCB, CBC/CBC or CCC/CCC, French or English Essential).

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES
EXP1: Recent* and significant** experience in writing and presenting materials for a senior audience (manager, director or above)
EXP2: Recent* experience in leading and/or facilitating discussions to achieve the development of IT solutions.
EXP3: Recent* and significant** experience implementing IM/IT plans to achieve the objectives of the client or management.
EXP4: Recent* and significant** experience in one or more of the following IT/IM disciplines:
· Information Management
· Enterprise Architecture
· Project management

Definitions:
*Recent experience is defined as experience that was acquired within the last five years.
** Significant is defined to mean the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed a broad range of duties for a period of more than one (1) year.

Only the top ranking applicants may be invited to the next phase of assessment. Asset criteria and/or organizational needs may also be applied at the screening stage.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
