The intent of this process is to staff 5 vacant positions within the Chief Financial Officer Branch.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics; or possession of the Government of Canada Financial Management Certificate.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience* utilizing and modifying spreadsheets at an intermediate level.**
Experience* in providing advice, guidance or interpretation of financial information, policies, or procedures.
Experience* in one (1) or more of the following areas:
• Accounting operations (e.g. processing accounts payable or receivable, bookkeeping, reconciliation, monitoring of accounts and data verification);
• Corporate accounting (e.g. preparation of monthly or annual financial statements or external financial reports);
• Financial planning, forecasting and variance analysis;
• Financial management advisory services (e.g. provide recommendations to improve financial information or the financial situation, take corrective action on discrepancies);
• Internal or external verification of financial transactions;
• Financial systems (e.g. implementation, testing, maintenance, user support, training, development of user guides);
• Cost estimation or costing;
• Accrual Budgeting; or
• Extracting, compiling or analyzing detailed information or preparing reports.

*Experience is defined as having the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired over a period of one year.
**Intermediate level spreadsheet experience is defined as having used spreadsheets for sorting or filtering data, or for creating charts, graphs, or pivot tables.
