Contract Inspectors play a vital role within the Real Property Operations Group at National Defence.
In this role, you will be expected to inspect and manage construction and maintenance services provided by private sector contractors. Some duties that may be expected to perform include: providing technical advice and direction to designers, team leaders and other stakeholders on maintenance projects; inspecting quality of work and ensure compliance with contract specifications, terms and conditions; reviewing and editing a variety of documents such as contract specifications, blueprints, cost estimates and preparing contract call-up proposals.

• Must possess a valid unrestricted class 5 (Class “G” in Ontario) driver’s licence issued by the Province of work to be performed.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DND 404 driver’s license.
• Willingness and ability to wear personal protective equipment used in a construction/maintenance environment
• May be required to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, scaffolding and work from heights. Work may include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, sitting, color determination, speaking and listening, and working in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.
• Willingness to travel to undertake training as required.
