Education
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group; or
Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).
Experience
- Recent* experience** in providing advice, guidance, briefings and recommendations on financial issues.
- A minimum of five (5) years of recent* professional work experience in a combination of two (2) or more of the following fields, including at least two (2) years of significant** experience at an intermediate level (FI-02 group and level or equivalent):
• Accounting operations
• Corporate accounting
• Corporate reporting
• Corporate Resource Management
• Cost recovery through fees
• Costing
• Financial management advisory services
• Internal control
• Financial policies
• Financial Systems
• Financial Transformation
• Grants and Contributions financial management
• Management of Loans, Accounts Receivables and/or Revenues
• Management of a corporate travel program
• Relocation
• Salary Management
• Other acceptable financial management-related field
- Recent* experience** in analyzing and interpreting financial information.
* Recent is defined as performing the duties within the past seven (7) years.
** Experience must have been attained in a financial management position level or above for a period of at least 24 months.
Occupational Certification:
A recognized professional accounting designation (i.e., CA, CMA, CGA or CPA).
