Inclusion at the Canada Border Services Agency:

The CBSA processes millions of travelers every day โ€“ people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. This is why itโ€™s important that our employees reflect the people we serve. We use workforce availability statistics to help us understand what our employee make-up should look like. Currently, we are under-represented in two employment equity categories: Persons with Disabilities and Indigenous peoples. Over the next three years, we hope to hire talented individuals from these two communities to make our Agency better.

Work environment

๐Ÿ The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is the first point of entry for travelers and goods arriving to Canada. We are, in effect, the face of Canada. The CBSA was established in December 2003. Its creation integrated border functions related to customs, immigration, enforcement, and food, plant, and animal inspection.

While the environment in which we operate continues to evolve, the CBSA's dual mandate remains the same. We support both national security and economic prosperity by preventing the entry of those travelers or goods posing a potential threat to Canada while at the same time facilitating the flow of people and legitimate goods across the borders.

2. We offer a variety of interesting and challenging opportunities;
3. We take your professional development to heart.

Intent of the process

โญ Committed to people and service excellence, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is seeking talented candidates to fill a variety of positions at the AS-04 group and level located across Canada. If you are considering a career with the CBSA we strongly encourage you to apply.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions with various tenures, security requirements, work locations and/or linguistic requirements.

The pool will be available to all CBSA hiring managers to fill their vacancies. Candidates may subsequently be assessed for any criteria or qualifications deemed relevant, whether identified on the Statement of Merit Criteria of this process or not. A top down or random selection approach may be used as part of the selection process.
