Intent of the process

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established to staff positions at the same group and level or equivalent within Elections Canada with various tenures (acting, assignment, indeterminate, secondment, specified period) and various BILINGUAL linguistic profiles (such as: BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC or CCC/CCC).

EDUCATION
Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience* in providing analysis, advice and recommendations on ongoing or emerging operational issues.
Experience* in developing, planning and implementing programs or projects.
Experience* working with internal and/or external partners or stakeholders.
Experience* in managing human resources**.

DEFINITION: Experience* is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various, complex related activities associated with full-time performance of duties for a period of approximately one (1) year.

Managing human resources** is defined as ongoing supervision of direct reports including such things as assigning work, managing and evaluating performance, leave approvals, hiring, etc., over an ongoing period of at least one (1) year.

EDUCATION (Asset)
Post secondary diploma in a field related to the position to be staffed (such as but not limited to social science, project management, etc.) or alternative studies.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE (Asset)
Significant* experience in the management of a call center / contact center.
Significant* experience in the management of complaints and/or incidents.
Significant* experience working for an electoral management body at the federal, provincial, territorial, municipal level or other comparable institution/similar agency in Canada or abroad.

DEFINITION: Significant* experience is defined as experience that was a core part of the applicant’s employment and that would normally be acquired over a period of two years (2) or more by performing the range of activities noted.

Elections Canada offers a hybrid work arrangement where employees have to work at the office two days a week and the remaining days can be done by teleworking. The successful candidate is expected to work at the traditional workplace located at 30, Victoria Street, in Gatineau.

IMPORTANT: Candidates from outside the public service may be required to pay for travel and relocation costs associated with this selection process.
