Duties

The Construction Maintenance Manager plays a vital role in the management of facilities, infrastructure, and grounds maintenance and repairs within the Department of National Defense (DND).

In this role, you will be expected to schedule, organize, and manage operational plans related to the maintenance and repair of facilities and infrastructure. You will be required to direct, supervise, and prioritize the work of multi-trade teams, and establish goals and coordinate work to meet timelines and schedules.

This process will be used to fill an immediate vacancy located in Petawawa, ON.
This process may be used to staff the same or similar positions with various tenures, language or security requirements within DND.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in engineering or applied science or a diploma from an Engineering Technologist/Technician program;
OR
Secondary school diploma AND possession of a valid Journeyperson certificate of qualification issued by the province of Ontario OR inter-provincial Red Seal certificate of qualification, OR Military Qualification in construction engineering (QL 6A or DP-3B).

*Military Qualification will be accepted at time of application; however, candidates will be required to obtain their journeyperson certification of qualification or Red Seal prior to appointment. Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
► Significant* experience in managing multi-trade work groups responsible for providing infrastructure and grounds maintenance
► Significant* experience in Facilities Management
► Significant* experience in human resources administration such as performance management, delegating work, mentoring, etc
► Significant* experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
► Significant* experience in scheduling and supervising maintenance work required to meet compliance standards and regulations

*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience usually acquired by regularly performing a broad range of various, complex activities which are normally acquired over a period of approximately three (3) years.*

► A current and acceptable driver’s abstract (if not already in possession of a DND 404).
