Senior Surveyor - Responsible to plan, organize, and lead survey and mapping projects in the region within the mandate of Surveyor General Branch, providing services as the central geomatics service provider on Canada Lands. These services support the management and administration of the property rights systems on Canada Lands in the region.

The intent is to staff two (2) positions on a permanent basis at the EN-SUR-03 group and level, located at 300 - 655 Bay Street, Toronto, ON.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada at the EN-SUR-03 group and level with various tenures (determinate period or permanent). The language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual), the method to staff a bilingual position (imperative and/or non-imperative), and linguistic profiles (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.) may vary, as well as security requirements (Reliability Status, Secret), conditions of employment and work locations.

• A Canada Lands Surveyor's commission AND licence to practice issued by the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors OR a licence or authority to practice as a land surveyor in any province in Canada.
Note: If this condition is met by having a licence or authority to practice as a land surveyor in a province, then the successful candidate must obtain a Canada Lands Surveyor's commission AND licence to practice within 2 years of appointment to the position.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing boundary or cadastral survey services.
• Knowledge of the Canada Lands Survey System (including Acts and Regulations).
• Ability to communicate effectively orally.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in land survey theory and practice.
• A licence or authority to practice as a land surveyor in any province in Canada.
Note: Qualified candidates may be selected for positions based on the province for which they hold a licence or authority to practice as a land surveyor.
• A Canada Lands Surveyor's commission AND licence to practice issued by the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors.
• Experience in the management of boundary or cadastral geospatial data.
• Willing and able to work overtime as required.
