The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) is following the direction of the Office of the Chief Human Resource Officer on the introduction of a common hybrid work model across the federal public service. This common hybrid work model consists of work on site at least 2-3 days each week. The positions that will be staffed through this selection process are physically located in Yarmouth and Sydney, Nova Scotia. The Canadian Shellfish Sanitation Program (CSSP) Staff Officer, in the interest of public safety, executes the CSSP Program. The Staff Officer also directs and administers resource management programs and services to meet conservation objectives, to enhance sustainable resource development and to optimize the social and economic benefits for all clients and stakeholders.
There is an immediate need to staff one position in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, and one position in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on a temporary basis and possibly a permanent opportunity on future. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions on a permanent or temporary basis, within Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
