🚩 HYBRID WORK MODE :
Please note that the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada has currently adopted a hybrid work mode of 2 days/week in person. The positions that will be staffed are physically located at the Maurice-Lamontagne Institute, Mont-Joli (Quebec) for the Mont-Joli region and in the downtown area, Ottawa (Ontario) for the NCR region.

A pool of qualified candidates for each stream will be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions with various language and security requirements within the Aquatic Ecosystems sector at Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

🎓 EDUCATION
ED - A degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution in natural sciences, physical sciences or applied sciences, with specialization** in a field related to the duties of the position.

*The term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.
**The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and have been taken from a recognized post
secondary institution, but not necessarily as part of a degree program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

⭐️ EXPERIENCE
ALL STREAMS
EX1 - Experience in analyzing information, developing options and making recommendations for management, related to wildlife conservation; or species at risk; or habitat; or other biodiversity, environmental or conservation issues.
EX2 - Experience working collaboratively with internal or external partners or stakeholders to inform the development of guidelines, policies or advice to management.

STREAM 2
EX3 - Experience leading, developing or implementing multi-disciplinary projects or initiatives.

STREAM 4
EX4 - Experience leading working groups and managing human resources*.

*Candidates must clearly demonstrate that they have managed and supervised employees, established work plans and performance objectives and assessed performance. Candidates must specify the size of the teams they supervised and the positions that team members occupied.

AEX8 - Experience working with the fish and fish habitat protection provisions of the Fisheries Act, or the Impact Assessment Act, or the permitting provisions of the Species at Risk Act.

· Ability and willingness to travel and participate in working meetings, sometimes outside normal working hours.

· Hold a valid driver's license (Class 5).
