3. Specific details relating to tasks, projects or achievements demonstrating how the experience was acquired.
Key Duties:
Provides one window point of contact with the recreational Boating Community and general public.
Develops and implements effective public information and education programs for their geographical area of the Region.
Organizes, coordinates, facilitates groups and individuals and makes presentations in order to foster and develop partnerships with members of the boating community.
Establishes, organizes and maintains co-operative relationships with the boating communities.
Develops, implements and evaluates in collaboration with Federal/Provincial/Municipal/ Territorial MOU'S with police forces, strategies and plans for effective enforcement of various regulations within their geographic area of the Region.
Develops methods for the gathering and dissemination of shared information and data resources for promotional and publicity purposes.
Implements public information and education programs designed to increase understanding of safety, environmental and economic factors associated with recreational boating and evaluates the effectiveness of such programs.
Key field contact for the coordination of boating safety programs.
Fosters/facilitates Provincial/Territorial Safe Boating Councils.

The immediate intent of this process is to fill one (1) position in the Ontario Region (English Essential) on a permanent basis, two (2) positions in Vancouver (English Essential) on a temporary basis, and two (2) positions in the National Capitol Region (English Essential and Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB) on a permanent basis.
A pool of partially and/or fully qualified candidates may be established within Transport Canada and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (including acting, assignment, deployment, indeterminate, secondment, specified period), and/or various linguistic requirements, and/or various security profiles.

Education:
Successful completion of two years of post-secondary education at a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
*Recent and significant experience in conducting research, carrying out analysis and making recommendations.
*Recent and significant experience in the delivery of presentations to stakeholder audiences.
Experience in the writing of reports and/or editorials or educational materials.
Experience in operation or maintenance of a Pleasure Craft or Small Commercial Vessels or Fishing Vessels.
Experience in using Microsoft Office; specifically, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
*Note: Recent and significant is defined as approximately one year within the last three years.
Asset Qualifications:
Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Education, Communications or Marketing, or other related programs relevant to the position.
Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP).
Experience working with or for Indigenous communities or organizations.

Willingness to travel by car, plane, boat and/or ship for an extended periods of time throughout remote and/or isolated areas.
Willingness and ability to climb ladders, and board unstable platforms such as boats and floating docks and to lift and transport heavy equipment.
