Small Craft Harbours (SCH) is a nationwide program of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, which operates and maintains a network of harbours in support of the needs of the commercial fishing industry. Since 2018, its national headquarters is based in Moncton, NB. The team provides national coordination with five regional offices across the country that manage program operations. The mandate of SCH is to keep the harbours that are critical to the fishing industry open and in good repair. The program is delivered in cooperation with Harbour Authorities (local not-for-profit organizations) who manage the harbours.
As part of a dynamic team in a fast paced and energetic environment, you will provide support to management for the oversight and reporting of SCH budgets and investment planning. Using MS Excel software and financial reporting tools, you will help assess financial issues, find solutions and provide information to support decisions and recommendations to senior management and national clients. Innovation is encouraged and team work is critical. If you’re looking for experience in a national role in the Public Service without relocating to the National Capital Region, this could be a great opportunity!
