GREAT OPPORTUNITY
This is a great time to be working in the field of real property given the role that it plays in building a stronger and more sustainable economy, fighting climate change, strengthening communities and partnerships, and supporting a modern digital environment. Given the transition to Hybrid workplaces, Real Property Services will lead the charge in modernizing office space to align to new ways of working. Work must also continue in adopting a portfolio-level perspective, strengthening lifecycle management of assets; and continuously improving risk, performance, and information management.
The Real Property Services Division has a critical role to play in being responsible for the lifecycle-driven planning, ongoing oversight, and management of operations, maintenance and repair of all properties to protect and ensure long-term viability of LAC’s real estate portfolio. The Division also oversees ongoing accommodation project management activities for LAC’s real property assets across Canada; including both lease administration and facilities management. This is the career opportunity of a lifetime!
WHY JOIN LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES CANADA’S (LAC) REAL PROPERTY BRANCH (RPB)?
LAC is recognized as a world leader in acquiring, preserving and providing access to Canada’s documentary heritage. Strategies are underway to modernize its services—both in-person and virtual—and to optimize its digital capacity to acquire, manage and preserve Canada’s documentary heritage, and make it more accessible. The RPB supports the organization by managing its portfolio of buildings, as a custodial department, to ensure that LAC has the special purpose and office space required to meet its program objectives. Currently, the RPB is leading two of the largest public infrastructure construction projects in Canada – the Ādisōke and Gatineau 2 projects, which have captured national and international attention. These leading-edge buildings will position LAC at the forefront of Canada’s Greening Government Strategy.
