The Editor/Translator is responsible for: providing French or English linguistic services including translation, editing, revision, quality control, writing assistance, terminology research and comparative review for documents produced by FCAC employees, including corporate publications, communications materials, regulatory documents, research reports, website content and other written material.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
STREAM 1 (ENGLISH TO FRENCH (CCC/PPC)):
Recent* and considerable** experience writing and editing documents in French.
Recent* and considerable** experience conducting comparative reviews from English to French.
Recent* and considerable** experience translating English documents into French.
STREAM 2 (FRENCH TO ENGLISH PPC/CCC)):
Recent* and considerable** experience writing and editing documents in English.
Recent* and considerable** experience conducting comparative reviews from French to English.
Recent* and considerable** experience translating French documents into English.
FOR BOTH STREAMS:
Experience providing linguistic advice to clients and/or management on a variety of documents (grammar, style, tone, clarity).
Experience carrying out grammatical and terminology research using terminology banks and other language tools.
*Recent and **considerable experience means experience gained over a period of at least three (3) years within the last five (5) years. However, a shorter duration may be considered based on demonstrated complexity and diversity of work handled, scope of work, and/or level of direct responsibility for a wide variety of complex files and/or projects.
A degree with specialization in translation or in a related field such as English studies, French studies or linguistics.
Experience editing and/or translating in plain language
Experience editing and/or translating technical information such as regulatory content
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice, as required.
