Intent of the process

At least 3 positions will be filled on an immediate and indeterminate basis.

These positions are with the Data Analysis and Reporting Unit (DRAU) of the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program.

The incumbent of one (or more) of these positions will work as a part of the DRAU team that undertakes and leads the data analysis necessary to support critical program management activities related to the development and implementation of complex rebate agreements with private industry, all with varying contracting elements and parameters. The incumbent of this position will utilize SAS, Structured Query Language (SQL) and algebra to implement and run these rebate calculations using automated database queries.

The incumbents of the other positions will work as a part of the DRAU team that supports internal and external stakeholders through claim data analyses, which are leveraged for evidence based policy and program decision making and for First Nations and Inuit community program planning.

In addition, a pool of partially or fully qualified candidates will be established through this process for anticipatory staffing of positions with various tenures, official language proficiencies and security profiles.

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Significant * experience extracting, manipulating and analyzing data from computer database systems, including utilizing SQL to develop queries for relational databases.

Significant *experience conducting data analyses, and providing reports to internal or external clients.

Significant* experience working with statistical software applications (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS, etc.) excluding spreadsheet applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers, etc.).

Experience preparing written material (e.g., briefing note, presentation deck, statistical report, written recommendations).

Experience working collaboratively with internal or external stakeholders or clients.

* Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed complex related activities normally acquired over a period of three (3) years.
