Operational Systems Business Management Team is responsible for meeting client needs and representing their interests in developing new technologies to support front-line policing. Business Management Team handles:
• The lifecycle management of operational Systems software;
• Integrated forms development
• Chair meetings for both internal/external partners and various working groups;
• Main point of contact for the Operational System’s Vendors and IM/IT relating to any issues, projects, software upgrades and releases;
• Provides advice, direction and briefings on a broad range of IT processes to management;
• Collaborate with IM/IT on Operations Systems Services Centre (OSSC) priorities;
• Main point of contact for other police agencies or stakeholders seeking information and guidance for Operational Systems.
The Operational Systems Problem Management Team provides advanced technical support related to the operational systems. Problem Management Team handles:
• System administration functions;
• Operational system user audits;
• Structured Query Language/Oracle scripting and database administrative function;
• Provides technical guidance with divisional ORMS, system users, and liaise with IM/IT Program
• Assist IM/IT Program with operational system patches and upgrades;
• Resolves clients identified technical issues;
• Researches and develops technical solutions in support of operational systems

The Operations Systems Services Centre (OSSC) is responsible for the modernization of Operational Systems, used by front-line members within the RCMP, as well as 26 Canadian police partner agencies.
Our team is located at 73 Leikin Drive in Ottawa, Ontario (Barrhaven), in a modern building with plenty of free parking, convenient access to bus routes immediately outside of the building, free use of a gym, and a cafeteria onsite.
Please note that our current section has flexible and hybrid work arrangement (~3 days per week in the office), flexibility can be applied when required.
The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English Essential and a Top Secret security clearance.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

EXP1: Recent experience* working in an Information Technology (IT) environment in at least one of the following:
• Development
• Testing
• Implementation
• Maintenance
• Support
EXP2: Recent experience* in providing IT assistance or advice to clients.
EXP3: Experience representing an organization on committees, working groups, or other collaborative initiatives and providing advice and expertise on the topics.
