Duties

As a labourer within the Department of National Defence, some of your duties may include:

↪ Performing general non-trade related tasks to the repair and maintenance roads, grounds, buildings, facilities, or associated infrastructure;
↪ Operating and performing user maintenance of a variety of hand and power tools, specialized equipment/machinery and motorized equipment;
↪ Preparing and cleaning works sites, moves and sets-up equipment and materials; and/or
↪ Transporting material and personnel to and from job sites.

Some positions may require:
• Possession of an unrestricted and valid driver’s license issued by a Canadian province or territory
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 Driver/Operator Permit
• Must be willing to wear and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with safety standards and regulations
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs)

Candidates must meet and maintain the conditions of employment throughout their employment.
