Tasks related to the development and execution of operations in support of the International Space Station robotics programs, the Canadian robotics program on the Lunar Station, the Canadian satellite operations program as well as the International Space Station Canadian science utilisation program.

The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates in order to staff positions within the Canadian Space Agency branches with various language requirements, tenures, and security requirements.

EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university inan engineering discipline relevant to the duties of the position to be staffed, such as but not limited to: Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software.
OR
· Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position to be staffed.
A "recognized university" is a Canadian university that has provincial or territorial degree-granting status, or a university outside of Canada, the programs/degrees of which are accepted by a recognized Canadian university. To determine if an institution is registered and recognized, visit the Ministry of Education website for the province in question to obtain a list of registered institutes. EXPERIENCE
· Seven (7) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in evaluating, analyzing and solving engineering or operations problems and in making recommendations.
· Seven (7) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in applying engineering principles and procedures.
· One (1) year of experience acquired within the last five (5) years in the development of mission operations plans, operational products and procedures or operational software products for complex systems*.
· One (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years in consulting, negotiating or collaborating with various stakeholders in an operational environment.
*Complex Systems are defined as systems that are composed of many independent system elements playing a key role in the whole system's behavior, such as in aerospace, space or military domain.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications may be used. Depending on the requirements of the position to be staffed, it is possible that an "asset" qualification may be required as an essential qualification. Please demonstrate all qualifications that you believe you meet.
CERTIFICATION
· Holding a valid certification recognized by either NASA or CSA for a flight control room, an operations and engineering center, increment management center, or training position.
EXPERIENCE
· Experience acquired within the last five (5) years in the real-time provision of on-console operations or engineering support during operation, simulation or testing of complex space or aerospace systems.
· Experience acquired within the last five (5) years in Life Cycle Material Management (LCMM) of space, aerospace or military operational hardware.
· One (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years in planning, leading and monitoring elements of work of an engineering project in an operational environment.
· Experience in the development, testing, validation or implementation of operational space, aerospace or military hardware or real time software.
· Experience working with the Mobile Servicing System (MSS) flight software or flight products, including reconfiguration files and mission databases.
· Experience in the development, integration, certification, and/or operation of scientific payloads or research instruments.
· Experience in at least two of the following: design, development, integration, testing, maintenance/upgrade of information technology (IT) hardware and software systems.
· Approximately two (2) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in coding and designing software applications.
· Experience with planning and executing Contract Management tasks, including the development of Contract work plans and contractual documentation (e.g. statement of work, work packages), planning and coordinating their associated reviews, reviewing the Contractor deliverables and claims in coordination with technical authorities and PSPC, as well as identifying and managing Contract/Project risks.
· Approximately two (2) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in the design, development, integration, testing, operation or maintenance/upgrade of real time simulation hardware or software systems.
KNOWLEDGE
· Knowledge of principles and procedures used in aerospace or military hardware/software full life cycle.
· Knowledge of space-based or planetary Payload operations.
· Knowledge of standard project management principles and practices, emphasizing on the monitoring and control of scope, cost, schedule, and risks for projects using work breakdown structures approach and the use of project management software tools.
ABILITY
· Ability to function effectively in an environment where tight deadlines and a high level of pressure are the norm.
· Ability to develop within the Linux environment.
· Ability to develop computer programs in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, JAVA, SQL or PHP.
