Duties

As an IT Client Services professional, your main duties may include; providing effective remote and on-site technical support; provisioning accounts, system access, endpoint deployment, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software; preparing documentation and providing advice and guidance on the use of computers, peripherals and applications; participating as a member of project teams, committees, meetings, conferences, workshops and special events; managing monitoring, and supporting of application, web and database servers; implementation of security standards for the department.

📌 Workplace:
The positions to be filled are located in Quebec City (320 St-Joseph Street East) and Montreal (200, René-Lévesque Blvd West). Successful candidates will be required to work at the work site in a hybrid work mode. A part-time telework agreement may be discussed and implemented at the time of hiring in accordance with the operational needs of the position to be filled.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill 1 indeterminate position located in Quebec City with the following language requirement: Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB.

A pool of qualified candidates will be created and could be used to staff similar positions of the same group and level with different language requirements, security requirements, terms and conditions of employment, locations or durations (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Crown Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada.

EDUCATION
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
◊ Recent* experience providing IT support to clients (in person or remotely) related to hardware, software, network connectivity and/or mobile telephony, a Windows computer network environment.

* « Recent » refers to an experience acquired within the last 5 years.

◊ Experience using a ticket management system such as Axios Assyst or Remedy to log in and update or assign tickets in accordance with established procedures and assignment matrices.
◊ Experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration.

Applications that are retained are those that provide information in the prescreening questionnaire that demonstrate meeting the essential education and experience. You must provide your education level and the institution where you attained this level, and concrete examples on how you meet the essential experience and the period of time this experience was acquired.
