Duties

Project Manager - Level 2 will be assisting in managing a number of projects for the Faro Mine Remediation Project.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in civil engineering, environmental engineering, mining engineering, geological, mechanical and chemical engineering or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

E1. Experience providing *engineering support.
E2. Experience analyzing and evaluating engineering-related issues or projects to inform technical advice and recommendations.
E3. Experience working in a team environment.

*Engineering support: Such as, but not limited to, reviewing or participating in the preparation of engineering or construction documents, reports, designs, drawings, specifications.

ABILITIES:

Eligible for Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada

EXPERIENCE
AQE1. Experience in construction and/or engineering projects in a northern climate.
AQE2. Experience in contaminated sites remediation projects.
AQE3. Experience in mining projects or mine reclamation projects.
AQE4. Experience working with Indigenous groups and/or northern communities.
AQE5. Experience in the planning, design, construction, inspection and/or management of various infrastructure activities, such as earthworks/embankments, retention structures, water diversions, covers, and dams.
AQE6. Experience in working on the Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan (FCSAP)
AQE7. Experience managing projects with alternate forms of delivery, for example, construction management, design/build, public private partnerships, etc.

KNOWLEDGE
AQK1. Knowledge of contaminated sites in the North.
AQK2. Knowledge of contaminated site remediation and reclamation methods and processes.
AQK3. Knowledge of mining dam design, construction, management, and closure.
AQK4. Knowledge of dam safety measures.
AQK5. Knowledge of the legislation and guidelines related to the management of contaminated sites in Canada.
AQK6. Knowledge of various aspects of the alternate forms of delivery of construction projects such as contract development, Insurance requirements, Financial models, etc.

Conditions of employment

Various security clearance requirements: Reliability Status or Secret (depending on the position being staffed)
Must be willing and able to travel.
Must be willing and able to work overtime.
Must be willing and able to conduct site visits and to enter project construction sites, as required.
