Intent of the process

The immediate intent of the process is to fill two (2) positions on an indeterminate basis with various linguistic profiles including Bilingual Imperative (CBC/CBC and BBB/BBB) and English essential, and a Top Secret security clearance.

A pool of candidates may be established, inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM), to staff other vacancies within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment/secondment) basis, with various linguistic profiles (English essential and Bilingual Imperative) and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

*Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to demonstrate how the specialization requirement is met.

Degree equivalency

EX1 Recent and significant* experience in case-management and risk assessment of at-risk populations: offenders and/or individuals with mental health and/or addiction issues and/or victims of crime.
EX2 Recent and significant* experience in preparing written reports and recommendations relating to human behaviour for various audiences, including field operations, senior management and/or stakeholders.
EX3 Experience in developing and managing productive and cooperative partnerships with community-based services and stakeholders.
EX4 Recent and significant* experience in conducting structured interviews with clients or stakeholders.
EX5 Experience in conducting psychosocial and/or sociological research and/or analysis on complex quantitative and qualitative data/evidence.

*Recent and significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full time performance of duties for approximately of two (2) years within the last five (5) years.

Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Social Work, Criminology, Psychology/Counseling or Sociology.

Degree equivalency

AEX1 Experience in social-work interventions and case management.
AEX2 Training and experience in using risk assessment instruments/tools.
AEX3 Experience in assessing individuals within the correctional system.
AEX4 Experience in providing counseling on the topics such as: employment, financial literacy, youth at risk, addiction issues.

Top Secret security clearance - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not
limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, creditchecks, alcohol and/or drug use.

This position is operational and selected candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

HOW TO APPLY:
