Presently, the official location (designated workplace*) of the positons to be staffed is in Gatineau, QC. The positions being staffed are part of the Principal Publisher division. The following teams within Principal Publisher are seeking to staff positions:
• Analytics services
• Social media services
• Principal Publisher Service Desk
• Product management office
• Project management office
Principal Publisher is part of the Digital Service Directorate, in the Citizen Service Branch, within Service Canada, at Employment and Social Development Canada.
Principal Publisher, in close partnership with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and the Privy Council Office, oversees Canada.ca, the official website of the Government of Canada. We provide key digital services and solutions to GC departments and agencies, such as:
• the Managed Web Service underpinning Canada.ca, which includes a content management system, cyber defence, a content distribution network, and web hosting services
• search solutions
• web analytics services
• the Government of Canada Newsroom application
• social media account management solutions
• and more…

The immediate need is to staff several Coordinator, IT and Web Services (AS-03) & Program Advisor (PM-03) positions indeterminately.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established and could also be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, titles and security requirements within Employment and Social Development Canada.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.

✅ Experience in coordinating or supporting projects or initiatives related to web.

EDUCATION
•Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management, business administration or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
•Project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, etc.
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in project management.
• Experience in technical testing activities of technical/publishing platforms.
• Experience in using a ticket system, such as Jira, for managing web requests.
• Experience in publishing web content using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
• Experience in the web content lifecycle process.
• Experience in the development of Web pages using HTML 5 as a core technology markup language.
• Experience in developing Web pages compliant with the Web Standards for the Government of Canada OR the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) OR Web Accessibility Toolkit.

Candidates must meet all the essential criteria in order to be appointed. However, applicants may be required to meet some asset qualifications depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed. Applicants are encouraged to indicate which asset qualifications they meet when applying.
A variety of assessment tools may be used in the assessment of candidates, such as: written test, self-assessment, situational exercise, oral interview, samples of previous work and/or reference checks. Note that assessment tools will be administered electronically and virtually.
Based on the number of applications received, volume-management strategies may be applied at any stage of the assessment process to identify which applications will be given further consideration such as but not limited to top-down approach, random selection, or asset qualifications.
All information obtained throughout the selection process, from the time of application to close of process, may be used to evaluate the candidates.
At the time of assessment, proof of education will be required. If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your credentials and/or diploma assessed against Canadian education standards.
