Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in geology, geochemistry or environmental sciences.
NOTE: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience
• Experience in providing strategic advice to senior officials*.
• Experience in planning and conducting technical, regulatory or socio-economic research or studies for the development and implementation of programs/initiatives.
• Experience in planning and conducting engagement activities with internal and external stakeholders, including government officials from other jurisdictions.
• Experience in developing and analyzing project proposals and operational or business plans.
* Senior officials is defined as Director Level and above.

• Knowledge of the environmental mining issues in Canada, including issues related to metal leaching and acid rock drainage.
