The Commercial Data division is involved with the collection, management, quality analysis, and distribution of data and information on commercial fisheries, including landings, landed values, quotas, and prices. The information generated is used for scientific research, policy and economic analysis, and by fishery management, industry, government, academia, and the public.
The Quota Team Lead manages the planning, development and delivery of quota management operations to external clients involving the issuance, transfer or revocation of quotas. The Lead is required to provide oversight and judgement regarding all quota transfers using research-based evidence to grant or deny any transfer.
The intent of this selection process is to staff one permanent position in the Commercial Data Division. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff other similar positions with various tenures, various language requirements and various security requirements.

EDUCATION
- A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternative
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in data management, which may include developing, implementing and/or monitoring compliance protocols, policies and procedures
- Experience in managing and conducting research and analysis projects on various topics, such as reconciliations of end-of-period anomalies/errors and annual reports with numerical projections
- Experience in the management of components in an electronic information management system and in providing input into the development of new databases and reporting systems
- Experience in leading staff and project teams in addressing operational challenges
