At Natural Resources Canada, a Federal government job means developing leadership skills, fostering teamwork, and supporting creativity and innovation. We know it takes people from diverse pools of talent to make this happen. That is why we are looking for people like you. The Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE) works to lead a culture of innovation and maintain the sustainable development of Canada’s natural resources by increasing energy efficiency across targeted sectors of the economy. As a result, consumers and businesses can benefit from the full potential of energy efficiency, namely, a reduction in energy use and GHG emissions, and overall cost savings. OEE plays a national and federal leadership role, such as work to improve the energy efficiency of Canada’s building stock, and working with Indigenous communities to improve energy efficiency in rural and remote areas.
An ever-evolving external environment informs our work and priorities, including emerging trends and internal realities under which the OEE must operate. In this capacity, the Branch balances competing pressures: responding to domestic labour market demands and an increasingly mobile work force; addressing changing global demand for natural resources while responding to complex energy security challenges; and contributing to overall economic growth alongside mitigating the effects of climate change.
Our offices are in the Sir William Logan Building at 580 Booth Street in Ottawa’s Little Italy neighbourhood, steps away from Dow’s Lake, the Rideau Canal, the Arboretum and Preston Street.
