Work environment

IMPORTANT NOTE:
A hybrid and flexible work arrangement agreement MAY be put in place, which may be modified over time based on various considerations such as operational requirements. Of importance to note that the Security Intelligence Analyst positions are not supported for long-term full-time virtual positions due to operational requirements.

Intent of the process

Immediate need: To staff a position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of partially qualified candidates will be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (Indeterminate, Specified period, Acting, Assignment, Deployment and Secondment) as well as various linguistic requirements (English essential, Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, etc) which may vary according to the position being staffed.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized postsecondary institution OR an acceptable combination* of education, training and experience.
*A secondary school diploma or equivalent and at least three (3) years of experience conducting analytical or research in a field related to intelligence or analysis

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience generating and analyzing quantitative or qualitative data.
• Experience in conducting analytical work and producing written reports.
• Experience providing oral briefings or presentations.
• Experience working as part of a team and contributing to the advancement of team projects, files, or tasks.
• Experience managing multiple and conflicting priorities.

KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of internal and relevant external policies and procedures related to security intelligence functions.
• Knowledge of legislation relevant to the Correctional Service Canada and the position.
• Knowledge of the intelligence cycle and the related components.

ABILITIES:
• Ability to research.
• Ability to collect, collate, and analyse pertinent information from a variety of sources and provide an assessment.
• Ability to produce data analysis and data visualizations including charts and tables utilizing Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
• Ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to summarize and disseminate information.
• Ability to identify intelligence gaps and identify areas requiring further research.

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in project management.
• Experience using the Offender Management System (OMS).
• Experience working in an intelligence role.
• Experience conducting threat or risk analysis or assessments.
• Experience using an analytical software program, such as link analysis software, telephone analysis software, statistical analysis software, data mining software.
• Experience interacting directly with offenders in a correctional setting (institutional or community).
