The intent of this appointment process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates. The results of this process may be used to staff same or similar positions for future vacancies of various tenures at Public Services and Procurement Canada in the Ontario Region.

Graduation with a degree in Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution in a discipline related to the duties of the position, such as Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical.
OR
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
OR
Graduation with a degree in Architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution.
OR
Licensed as an Architect in Canada.
Recent* and significant** experience in construction projects, specifically in:
- In the planning and managing various phases of design and construction projects with varying degrees of complexity*** related to:
a) institutional or commercial buildings including new construction, building renovation and/or interior fit-up; OR
b) infrastructure such as new construction or repair of dams, bridges, locks, or marine structures,
- In managing project quality, finances, and schedules.
- In managing multiple stakeholders
The candidate is asked to provide a minimum of 2 sample projects, describing the project description, size and complexity, duration on the project, the candidate’s roles/responsibilities therein and provide contact information for the supervisor. In combination, the projects are to demonstrate that the candidate has all the required experience.
Definitions:
Experience is defined as work-related experience acquired in the identified field following graduation.
Real Property is defined as land, buildings, and anything attached to the land.
*Recent is defined as within the five (5) years immediately prior to the closing date of this job opportunity advertisement.
** Significant is defined as the complexity and diversity of work which would normally be acquired over a period of approximately 4 years where the candidate progressively performed various roles in the planning and management of construction projects.
***Complexity is viewed in terms of risk. Candidates are expected to demonstrate experience in the management of complex projects with at least one (1) risk factor, for example: high technical difficulty, projects implemented in secure facilities (eg. correctional facilities with restrictions for access by construction crew), high stakeholder and media interest, stringent regulatory compliance requirements, physical challenges (confined spaces), heritage structures, unknown site conditions.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Canada in a discipline relevant to real property such as Civil/Structural, Mechanical or Electrical.
Licensed as an Architect in Canada.
CACB (Canadian Architectural Certification Board) accreditation in Architecture.
PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification.
Experience in delivery of federal projects subject to federal acts, regulations, codes and standards.
Experience in the management of a Program of Real Property projects.
Experience in reviewing drawings and specifications for construction projects.
Willing and able to travel.
Willing and able to travel to project sites, as required.
Willing and able to work overtime, as required.
