EDUCATION:
ED1: A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group;
OR
Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).
EXPERIENCE:
EXP1: Experience in financial management (at least two(2) of the following areas):
Development or interpretation of financial policies
Financial management advisor services or resource management
Accounting operations
Internal controls
Maintenance, implementation or development of corporate financial systems
Corporate Accounting
Corporate Reporting
Auditing
EXP2 - Experience in reviewing and analyzing data and financial reports used by management for decision making.
EXP3 - Experience using integrated financial systems.
Various language requirements

ASSET EXPERIENCE
AEXP1: Experience interpreting and applying Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) OR the Government of Canada Accounting Handbook OR the Receiver General manual and directives OR the FIS Accounting Manual.
AEXP2: Experience in Accounting Operations.
AEXP3: Experience in human resource management** of a team of at least 2 employees.
AEXP4: Experience auditing information technology general controls and application controls.
AEXP5: Experience in preparing general purpose financial statements in the public or private sector (such as financial statements on the accrual basis of accounting, including organizational financial statements for a government entity, whether historical or prospective) OR Public Accounts in a corporate accounting and reporting role.
** Human resources management includes establishing objectives, carrying out supervision and performance reports and resolving questions/problems from employees as needed.
